Starting Mainstream School without Support: One Family's Story

Margaret McQuillan, a mother of three, is navigating a difficult journey as her youngest daughter, Emer, prepares for mainstream school this September. Despite Emer having Down Syndrome, her "mild learning disability" classification means her school will receive no additional resource teaching hours. This video follows Margaret’s fight to secure the essential supports her daughter needs to thrive in a classroom that isn't yet equipped to help her.
